Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. Early Broadway parts are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be a limited edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton, will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key actors into the very first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
